CH. Lucilla and CH. Aurelius
Lucilla and her father Aurelius. She is the daughter of URO1. Ch. AKCM Grace, CGC. She just earned her champion title this weekend. When the new rankings are posted her father will be listed as the number one presa in the UKC for 2017. Judges pulled them aside and told them that no one will beat her. Next month we plan to bring out her sister Black Beauty AKA BB. It has been a great weekend. We our proud to see our pups do so well.

To improve the breed would imply something was wrong with it. If that's the case choose a different one.  There are many breeds we can choose. Improving the breed in many cases have become a cliche. They say it because they believe it sounds good or its the right thing to say. I have a problem with the breeders that breed for extreme size in the presa. The presa was and is a catch dog. You aren't going to find many 180 lbs presas that catch wild boars with a long career. That career will be shorten at the tusk of boar. I see it all of the time.  There's a breeder in Toronto that's well known and boasts that they breed for larger size. Dogs can't get their rear legs two feet off the ground. The sad thing is there are more breeders like that. What's even worse is the public perception is that bigger is better.  The truth is that bigger for this breed is not functional. If you want bigger get a Boerboel, Tosa, Bully kutta,  English Bulldog, etc. There are plenty of larger breeds to select.

Thanks. We have a good idea of what we wanted out of our dogs. many people go to the extreme with want show dogs. Others go to the extreme wanting working dogs. This is a working breed. Our desire is to have the total dog. One that meets the standards in conformation, temperament, and working ability. We have no interest in so call improving the breed or changing it. In my opinion improving it would be changing it.

Thank you.

This is the pup that I kept from URO1 CH AKCM Grace, CGC litter that I produced.  On the US side we have AKCM,  Guardian Angels, Showstopper. Guardian Angel and Showstopper were the first to go to Spain and import the presa into the US. On the Spain side we have some Spanish champions like Tamaran,  Urco, and more. Dogs like Woo Do Show and Xanitland were produced. There's a heavy influence of Grand Champion GA Marcus on both sides.

We are hobby breeders of the Perro De Presa Canario. We enjoy this breed and want to share our love for the breed with others. We train in Conformation, Obedience, etc. A Presa should be a well trained loving family guardian.
