I've been on a chat for hours to have them refund my money that I didn't authorize them to withdraw from my account. After the last 4 hours they finally agreed to refund me

I am glad you finally got your refund and is on gas heat. We are still on electric here in Texas but have a nice fireplace for the really cold snaps.... like now.

I haven’t gotten a refund yet. But I got a message that it is coming. They denied me at first. But I continued to ask and proved why I deserved a refund. They eventually agreed.

I’ve thought about switching to electric heat. But I’m told gas is better. I’m still considering. But I need to make a decision soon. I have to replace my furnace. Any thoughts?

Go with Natural Gas heat.

If you will run your heater for 3 or more months then go with gas. If you do not have gas in house already it will be expensive.
Here in south TX we use heat about 45 days per year so it's electric.. if it gets really cold I light up the fireplace

Everything else is electric. The only thing I currently have that uses gas is the furnace. I was told that gas is better for heating the house. But I don't know why or how it is better. I got a couple of quotes. 12,000. My second quote was 6,000. That 1st one they added a bunch of thing in other than the furnace and installation...lol Likr changing the battery on my smoke detectors. I don't know if they expected me to read it thoroughly 😕.

The furnace is part of you airhandler unit and has heating elements. The outside unit does not run during the cold spell. Just the airhandler with the electric heating elements.

Easy.

We had gas heat in Virginia and it was expensive.

Yes it’s expensive. That’s why I changed my hot water and oven to electric. But my gas bill went higher. SMH I thought about changing the furnace and having 1 bill. But I’ve kept the gas. I have a few more quotes. One for about 4500. I’m going to look over it and the one for about 5000 then make a decision. One company that came out never sent the quote. Turns out I know his family. He was admiring my dogs. I didn’t think he wanted to leave…lol
