Hello! Our Alanos/Bandogs are usually not so heavy and usually have not many wrinkles on the head. The original breeds were: Cane Corso, Presa Canario, Alano Espanol, CA de Bou, Dogo Argentino. The last two races are not safe to hand as none of the founders is active anymore. So it's not a Mastino in the American Bandog. They're pure power dogs. Otherwise they are enormously similar to the American Bandog, therefore the union of both races. I have brought six litters so far, unfortunately only my

Rage Syndrome, also known as Sudden Onset Aggression or (SOA) or Avalanche of Rage Syndrome, is a rare but serious behavioral problem that has been reported most commonly in the English Springer Spaniel but also in a variety of other dog breeds. While I have not seen or experienced this personally I

Excellent!  Those sound like very good breedings.  Have you noticed any particular traits or behaviour you can share with you? How does your bandogs measure up to the ones from Slovakia?

We call these dogs Alanos. I grow the breed since 2010. Since breeding is genetically too narrow, I am mating the next generation with American Bandogs from Slovakia. There you have very good Bandogs which have long been paired with Bandog x Bandog. Very healthy and powerful dogs.

Has anyone with experience owning an EBT witnessed SOA. I'm curious how prevalent it is within the breed?

Thank you; this matting was done in the past more than twice, I think, and produced good guard dogs; so I am hoping for the best; Anastasia/Lagertha is one of their offsprings; unfortunately, I lost her to a snakebite when she was 5 months old ( I haven't been very lucky with my dogs over the past couple of years! Hope that things will start changing now :)

Thank you for the update.  I wonder which carries the most dominant trait - the sire or the dam.  I think it is the damme but I think there is an article on here or in the forum about this. So, if the mother is soft you will have a fairly good chance of getting a softer offspring.  Maybe worth looking into.

The mating happened a week or so ago using; a different sire than what I hoped; still a good mating; the dam is Tzar's mother and it will be her last litter; the sire is imported from Belarus and looks very impressive; booked a male and made a deposit; if the mating is fruitful, the litter is expected by 22 September; will keep you posted to share the excitement with you!

keep her and get a male from the type we prefer  Excellent!  I am glad you did not abandon her because of her temp. This is not the first time I have discussed situations like this with some of our members.  Normally breed clubs and enthusiasts love the temperament of the original breed but because of local laws and pressures to join kennel clubs they soon abandon the natural temperament and start to soften the dogs so they can be more popular. For that re
