Comment to 'Here come the feds!'
  • Now that the NC General Assembly has adjourned for the year, we turn our attention to other government intrusions.

Many people are concerned about new rules proposed by the US Dept. of Agriculture. UKC, AKC, and other dog groups are working to get as many people as possible to comment AGAINST the proposed rule known as APHIS-2011-0003-0001.(APHIS is an acronym for Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, a division of the US Dept. of Agriculture.)

The actual proposed APHIS rule #2011-0003-0001 may be found as follows: http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=APHIS-2011-0003-0001

A clear explanation of the problems with this proposed federal rule may be found on the UKC website as follows:

The problems may be summarized by this:MORE GOVERNMENT INTRUSION.

Thank you for standing together as dog owners against intrusive government. It reminds me of Benjamin Franklin’s response to John Hancock’s remark that the revolutionaries should be unanimous in signing the Declaration of Independence: “We must indeed all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
