Here's my advice for you, everything you do with a dog keep it simple, short sessions and fun, use food only when they do exactly what you want, lots of praise and if you can give the dog 15 minutes of training a day, use the Same words for What you are training....And Atleast one good walk a day you'll have an awesome dog in another year. I will only use force as a punishment If its the fastest and best way to get my point across. But generally I use noise corrections and if your dog likes to chase a ball use it to your advantage-For exercise and training. An Akita is a smart dog so you have to work its body as well as its mind, at a year it is Not a mature dog..Let it meet lots of new people-Children included. You may notice in another year or so you're dog is Not as friendly...So this is the time To get in As much socialization as possible...Good luck in you quest...This is a great site to find it. =O)
