Posts of gsicard RSSSun, 02 Jul 2023 09:04:50 GMTI got an article popped up in my news search robot today and in reading through it, it seems that the author was on a rant about another author who wrote about "treat training doesn't work". So I did a quick search and found what may be the article and read that also. What bothered me about the criticism the most is that the author seem to challenge assertations of the original article because the credentials of the author and references were not provided.I do not believe the credentials and references are any basis for refuting the the validity of the article. That should be done with counter points to the positions proposed by the original author.If I wanted to know about the use of dogs to hunt Racoons, I would take the word of a Cajun Coon Hunter (who may also be a vet) :) rather than a vet or some peer reviewed papers.What are your thoughts.

There are many large breed dogs being turned in to the shelter and it could be caused by the current state of the economy or simply people leaving or arriving and can't keep their dogs. Either way, there are many dogs that need your help. Follow this link to see the article and help if you can. You may also help by donating to the rescue organization so they can care for and transport these dogs we love. The dogs are at the Pima Animal Care Center. People who wish to adopt or foster are advised to contact the shelter by calling 520-724-5900, visiting webcms.pima.gov or visiting the shelter in person. It is open Monday to Friday, noon to 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

He beat out a fantastic Whippet, a sheepdog and a Samoyed that was the top-ranked show dog in the country.  How does this Pekingese beat the top ranked show dog in the country. If anyone believes that is the reason they are crazy.
