            • Looks like an awesome place to hike! My dogs love snow (so long as it's not super cold out), they get so frisky at the first snow. Love eating the stuff too :) You must be tough, where's your sleeves man? LOL
              • Great mountains! I've hiked san b national forest many times and always loved the trails. Which trail was this? I notice you always have your dogs on the leash when posting pictures, which is responsible of you, but in those mountains on those hikes, I hope you let the dogs loose and run free...
                • Yeah I can't say I consistently obey the leash laws, along with the pitiful "offlead areas"(usually a fenced square smaller than my yard) they're just an insult to dogs really. Obviously devised by cat people or something.
                  • well i figured if i am in the middle of the mounatins 4-5 hours away from any road or civilization, what harm is my little dog going to do to nature if he/she is off leash. much less harm than us human are inflecting on beautiful mother earth, that's for sure.
                    • I do let my dogs off leash, I have what I like to call secret spots, I have a way of finding these places, first I find an area that seems good, than i survey it through google maps to really know the lay out and find the most isolated areas. Than I hike them and scout them and get a feel for them, after hiking the place for a while and seeing if I feel it is safe I will unleash them. I typically get to know the area really well and follow game trails off the main trails. That is how I have found natural springs etc. I have even found a couple caves.

                        • Sounds kind of like my hiking style, the more remote the more fun. I am not sure if you're using a GPS, but I am planning on getting one soon. Love going off trail not knowing where I am heading and 3-4 hours later let the GPS guide me back. To me, this is the best way to discover the mountains.
                          • Ya, i'm the queen of getting lost LOL Got lost on my own property when i first moved there :( If I went hiking elsewhere, I'd need to get a GPS too, they're great for the most part. Hard to find spots that are absolutely free of other hikers and their dogs.
