Comment to 'Pit Bull Problem - An Article'
  • Well I never owned one but i´ve known lots of pitbulls and I certainly don´t agree with you. It´s their nature, they´re naturally confrontational dogs and that has absolutely nothing to do with teatching to be alpha dogs or not. Are you expecting me to believe that dogs that have been bred mostly for fighting for the las 200 years can be perfectly well around other dogs without the risk of atacking them? That´s biological. I´m no ignorant when i speak about these things and I also saw many apbt´s hanging around well with other dogsd bue they were still young. Since thei become 1 year old or so the became more dangerous. I´ve seen adult ones playng with other adult dogs and not atacking them but that´s just a matter of time. they can be 5 minutes playing with another dog and everything is ok but suddenly and without a warning they attack the other dog, and believe me i´ve seen this a lot of times. Two examples... I have a friend that has a gsd and his dog was already attacked twice. One day they were playing and I said to him. "I wouldn´t let your dog play with that pit, I´m warning you" he said "oh there´s no problem they are fine" well, some minutes after this the pit atacked the gsd. fortunatly nothing happened ´cause we were able to stop the fight right away. The second time we were walking the dog (gsd) and a friend of ours who owns an AmStaff ( reportedly less dog agressive than apbt´s) arrived. I warned him not to put the dogs together but the gsd owner said it was fine since they had already been together when the AmStaff was a pup. I said "you´ll see" well when the guy unleashed is AmStaff it went straight to the gsd and started a fight. We had difficulties in stoping the fight but again nothig serous happened. Don´t get me wrong I respect apbt´s as i respect any other breed but they really have do be handled with responsability and deniyng that is really hiding a fact. Oh and by the way, my avatar is not a lab...
