In the above video you will see the large male's bad skin around his eyes and head but is also present on his hocks and under arms .You will probably know from my videos that all my dogs sleep together indoors.

I use the same spot treatment for all the dogs and could not understand why just one dog was constantly itching and licking hi paws and had what I would call heavy dandruff and a pugnant odour.I changed his diet to a sensitive complete food and bathed him twice weekly with maleseb and tho there was moderate improvement he still displayed the same symptons which gradually got worse despite my efforts .I never consider the fact that he had any type of infestation as the others showed none of the same symptons.Having failed to stem the problem I took him to my vets .The vet took a skin scraping and examined it and saw the mites in the sample. This was a shock to me and when I asked why the others had no mite infestation and that he had been treated regularly with the same spot on treatment as the others the vet said some dogs are simply more sensitive to these things and that while the spot on I had used protected against pretty much everything except mites.

I take my dogs out and about to nature reserves forrests etc and the vet informed me the mites most likely came from foxes

The vet administered a different spot on treatment ,alot more expensive one than I had previous used and antibiotics for his skin and an ear treatment and eye drops ,quite an expensive lesson learnt.

I hope my experience is of help to others and their own dogs.
