I've been mostly a lurker on several dog forums for about 2 years now and its more common than not to see discord and rude, insulting behaviour. This isn't only on dog sites-- my fiance has been involved with saltwater fish and reef keeping for years and the arguments on those forums are equally as vicious. (For the record Xamen13, the reef keeping hobby is predominantly male and they still get into some pretty big pissing matches.) In anycase, I think it's just a reflecton of how society as a whole is these days. Social niceties aren't as important as they once were generations ago and parents today certainly don't seem to teach them to their children.
