  • [quote1288990113=LethalD] The first 3 pics in the Bandogge Gallery are of my dog. The APBT on his dams side is down from Ruthless (Farmer Boys dog) I'm not too sure about on his sires side (he has APBT on both sides, his sire being APBTxAB and dam APBTxBM). The BM used was down from show stock but worked as guard dog at a used car lot. I didn't do the cross personally but what attracted me to it was the smaller size and tighter more athletic build when compared to the usual Neo X bandogs. They drool less too ;) I have Diesel with me all day when doing my rounds (rent collection) where he meets hundreds of people and is always happy to be petted so long as the they approach calmly and respectfully but if you raise your voice or act erratically he'll be on the end of his lead giving you the stare. He's honestly perfect for what I use him for, calm and friendly enough to enter strangers homes without any fuss but ready to turn on at the flick of a switch should the situation require it. He hasn't had any formal training or tests but has been tested in a few real life scenarios and I can say I trust him 100% to engage a threat. I like his structure a lot, he has thick bone but his front looks very correct. He has a lovely head as well. It is amazing what can come out of a mix of different breeds. I would like to have a dog with my dog's height but with a more bone and better rear angulation as well as a shorter body. I think a hint of the correct mastiff blood will increase his guarding skills without comprimising his stability. My dog lacks prey drive which is also excellent, you don't want your guard dog to take off after a squirrel while you are being robbed haha within the next two years I should be moving a nice large place and I will def need the help of counter part to Bernie. I know at night he is very protective of the property but I am pretty sure he would work better as a watch dog alerting than guarding. I can see him wagging his tail and licking the robbers while they take our stuff away haha
