Hi, Im new here, and have friends in aksaray Turkey where the malakli comes from. They dont call it a mastiff, because they tink that the malakli is a different breed. At youtube you can find alot of films

They're not an LGD breed, but that doesn't mean that some of them haven't been used for the job. It's just not what they're bred for. Hope that helps. Also, the reason why Malakli fanciers dislike the mastiff term is because they want to avoid the association of their breed with English Mastiff crosses. To many folks the word mastiff means English Mastiff, not a type of dog.
