      Hi everyone,

Here are a few pics I took of my pups recently. They are now 2.5 years old.

      • It is great to finally get to see them. You have a very nice pair. Thanks for sharing them with us. I will invite you to the Co group.

        • Yasha is knuckling over in his hind legs. Tonight was the first time that I noticed the knuckling. BUT, I did notice that he was walking gingerly for about a week.

Is this common in the breed?

          How is it treated?

          Should I be concerned?

          Thank you

          • You should be concerned.  That is not normal for the CO. They may have Pano - growing pains - but an adult dog should not knuckle over unless there is a problem. I suspect that you checked the feed and did a general feel of everything.  Take him to a good vet and explain what is happening.

You may have to get x-rays.

This is a large breed and they are prone to some problems but this is not normal.

            Regards,

            Gary

              •  I took Yasha to the vet two weeks ago and they gave him dexamethasone injection along with Baytril.  I was told that he could possibly have a ligament tear, muscle strain, hip issue, or nerve problem. I was then sent home and told to give him prednisone tabs 20 mg twice a day.

Yesterday morning, I noticed that he had vomit. I dismissed it because they would vomit occasionally. Then last night I noticed that he was vomiting again. At that time I realized that he needed to go back to the vet in the morning.

At about 4am this morning, when I checked on him; he was panting heavily. So I took him for a little walk to see how he was moving. First thing I noticed was that he was weaker in his hind  legs and he was knucling a lot more. I went inside and came back to check on him at 6:15am this morning. At this time Yasha was dead!

Right now I am hurting so bad! Oh my God; this really hurts! My wife is not good at all!

I am just shocked, confused, frustrated, mad, pissed off, you name it and that's what I am!

I buried him in my back yard. I am going to see the vet and see if she can perform an autopsy!

My big baby boy is gone..................God knows I love him! My head hurts so bad from crying! I just feel lost!

                • That is so sad. I am very sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences. Get the necropsy from another vet and inquire about the side effects of the drugs.

                  • I'm to hear about this too. I hope you feel better soon. I know this is hard.

                    • my condolances .... It's terrible to lose a good friend ....

                      • I meant I'm sorry to hear about this too.
