    • Hi guys, Wondering if anybody knows if there is a may of managing WORMS without having to visit the vet or pharmacy for tablets. I am curious to know if there is a specific diet or suplement that can kill worm infestation. Roundworm seems to be the most common worm seen by collegues and friends. As the cost of worming a dog is not expensive, the problem is remembering to actualy worm the dog regularly and not waiting to see them in stool.
      • I always find its best to leave notes on the fridge it is after all somewhere you go every day. I dont miss worming but we get courses which only have to be done every 3 months and a reminder by phone when they are due. So worry isnt there just the girl at the vets checking her computer. LOL
        • Try to get some Garlic power or suppliments into their diet. Garlic usually destroys intestinal parasites. There may also be some equire remedy that can be used.
          • Actually before coming to a first world country we used a clove of Garlic once a week in our dogs food although my vet here says that Garlic is from the onion family so not good. Also we used to seep a tobacco leaf for 10 minutes and put a few drops into the dogs food, which we were told was also bad. No worms so obviously bad for them. Im sure there is some home remedies which could be something you add to the food but then again it is the same as giving pills or chewies, you still have to remember to do it  If your dog has worms an old-fashioned remedy for deworming pets: use full amount on dogs and 1/4 amount on cats. Mix one teaspoon of dried, powdered rosemary and one teaspoon of wormwood with 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ground garlic. Mix well and separate into 4 portions. Give your pet a portion mixed in with their food, four times a day. Repeat this for approximately 4 days and your pet should be completely dewormed.
            • You are located in Ireland according to your profile and I am not certain about the over-the-counter availability of anthelmintics there, but I do know that Ireland has a large population of sheep. You could go to a farm supply store andsee if you could get yourself some fenbendazole drench. As far as actually remembering to deworm the dogs...you are on your own there!

                • What ever method used you still have to REMEMBER to worm your dog so I will stick with buying the tablets from the vets surgery. I found a UK based web site that you sign up to for email reminders, www.wormfree.co.uk There is also fleafree.co.uk for Flea treatment reminders.
