• What do you think about the structure of this NEO? hugo

• He has a great topline. I like his build alothough he does seem to be a bit young yet. Doesn't have the enormous build as some today. Would love to see a front pic of him, to see his chest? Do you have one?
• Where can we find one like that today?
• I like dogs that are both very large, and athletic. So, I would prefer a Neo more like the pic. I wonder what the weight and height would be on that dog?
• One of the greats in the breed.
• Where can we find one like that today? CANE CORSO
• Wolf I have heard people express thier discontent with todays Corsi. They see one and say, thats not a real... Often I agree. Because you mentioned this, I wonder it you can answer a question for me. What is a real Cane Corso? Do you have some pictures that you could post. Maybe of these farm stock? I ask this because I understand and think I can point out the "boxer" Corsi. But then, often it seems like some good breeders have Corsi that seem to replicate what I have seen in old pictures. thx
• hi hugo my friend, i have seen that you have posted the picture already a few days ago on my board and asked the same question. i am sorry that i have forgotten to answere there, but let me do it now. it is one of the best looking neos i have seen for a very long time. the dog looks functional and very different than all those overdone neos we see nowadays. thank you for posting. ;)
• A great looking dog in anyone’s language I’d have thought, although the Neo breeder's don't think so.

I have another pic from the side showing his head. It is not a good pic but I post it any way. hugo

That should make sense, especially if you make sure to recognize what I am saying, as well as what I'm not saying in that statement. That's it for now, I may revisit the matter when I have more time. Edited to add this photo from 1940:
• [quote1239788388=Wolf] Nah, the Corso today is bred to be a heavy Boxer more than a light Neo, John. That's why using Boxers in Corso breedings is allowed, but maintaining the Mastino connection in the breed is seen as backwards and counterproductive. Pretty soon that train will leave the station for good and the Mastinari will have to look into something other than the Corso to "fix" whatever needs fixing. True Corsi are not only UNRELATED to the American crap, but they also have very little in common with modern Italian dogs, both in phenotype and genotype. Breed a Boxer to a Bullmastiff and you don't even need any Corso blood to produce a champion quality show Corso today. Sad, but very true. Another one bites the dust. Edited to add: In case I was vague, I would advise against using the modern Corso in Neo breedings. Bad match. If you have to go to a Corso, look for old farm stock. There's still a handful that would be appropriate. [/quote1239788388] Would using the Boxer have been so bad if they had bred for performace? The Alano might not be as serious as the Perro de Toro, but it's, apparently, still a capable breed.
