its nice to see working dogs do what they were ment to do,it dosent mater hunting dog,herding dog or any other dog for that mater, this sarplaninac is a champ in my eyes,thats hes job and hes been bred to do that for hundreds of years natural selection,best to best as protectors,herders and he proved it in this video. As long as we have people that use them for what they were bred to do we will have god working dogs,not show imatesions

the dog in the video its bigger than sarplanianc its a ilyrian shepherd cuz ilyrian shepherds are much bigger and they arent mixed wiht any breed and they are better at fighting u can see the people in the villiage are wearing white hats called PLIS are albanians in sar mountains with thier dog ilyrian shepherd no dog in size 62 cm can kill a wolf accept ilyrian shepher(albanian shara mountain dog) and evry breeder in kosova has this DVD only macedonian breeders dont have it so its clear that this dog isnt a sarplanianc but a ILYRIAN SHEPHERD

For the people who dont understand the real thruth! I am personal frend with the son of the famous Ismail-aga who is in the movie and his Sharplaninec dog named 'Karabash". In the actual movie is mentioned that the breed is"Sharplaninec"-and not Yugoslavian sheepdog or Deltari or something else! And the location of the vilages were this movie is taken are alsow mentioned.They are the vilages of Gurgrunitca and Sedlarevo,and their location is in the R.Macedonia,at mountain "Suva gora"-near the city of Skopje-the capital of Macedonia! dear mr Admin or black heart or whoever- I don't understand about this iliryian shepard dog- this name is popular couple of years ago- 5 years ago it was Sharplaninac and now it's ilyrian- You are not powerfull enought to change the name of sharplaninec to Daltari- if you want to create new breed you need to find new base for it- you can not just take thr doogs out of Restelica Brod Dragas and make new breed out of breed who is allready exist

Baf, I agree with you. I find it ridiculous that the breed is being stolen and given a new name and false history. I did NOT change the name nor am I trying to. I am not an administrator either. The name was put there by the author as a secondary name given to the Albanian Baljus dog. But the name Deltari Illir coincides with the Albanians story of being the direct descendants of the EXTINCT Illyrian people and the name simply means Illyrian shepherd... Its a Hodge podge of egoism, politics and thievery that is going on and I have ABSOLUTELY no ties or affiliation to it, nor do I EVER want to. I hope that has cleared up the issue you have with me.

But the name Macendoski moloss coincides with the Skopjan story of being the direct descendants of the Macedonia people and the name simply means Jungoslavian dogs or Albanian dogs,It is the same breed dogs . Get over it. The dogs are all Sarplaninac. When were they ever referred to as a Molos? Any other "special" name does not change what the dogs are. Quit splitting a breed that does not need splitting. Do you really think that the Germans are furious that England calls GSDs Alsatians? Do you really think that changes the history of the breed or creates a new but older breed? No, it doesn't. PS, How can a dog be called a Molos when it is not from that region or even when the dog was originally recognized in Group 1, not 2?

Molossia was an area in northwestern Greece, from there is Epir Moloss dog breed. Alexander the Great's mother's dog was molosser. Skopje call Sar dogs to molosser, Makedonski moloss. Them feel that them are direct descendants of ancient Macedonia and the same with their dogs! This is ridiculous political propaganda, nationalism and historical theft! Until 1947 Skopje was called for Vardarska Banovina and dogs for Illyrian Sheepherd. Today they are trying to change the names, to Macedonia, Makedonski Moloss and the same with Makedonski Karaman!

Its just a name. I like Sarplaninac, as it refers to the mountains in which the dogs are from, no region devout to a people or nation involved. It is a Macedonian breed, no doubt. But to take the countries out of it.
