My dogs have Dogloos and they only get in when it gets really cold.. (for Texas). The Dogloo with some pine or hay bedding will be perfect to keep your dog comfy. You can also get the plastic cover for the door to keep the wind out. It works great.

Do you guys think a dogloo is good enough shelter for my dog? I am wondering this because in the winter it gets pretty cold, it will regularly be in the 30-40 at night. Right now I have a dogloo filled with sawdust for him. I was thinking of making him a dog house out of wood with a swinging door though.

well i have to have my dogs tied, so i have 3 seperate dog houses for all 3 of them, 2 are store bought dog houses, and 1 is a wooden dog house I built. The wooden dog house seems to be the most comfortable and warmest IMO. Its pretty much just a box with a swinging door. I put a 2x4 by the front door to make a "block" to keep all the saw dust from falling out. so inside it has nice soft layer of bedding a few inches thick.
