BARF books ?

I'd tell you to read this forum from top to bottom. Between this forum and the few websites I think you'll get all the info you need. Seriously, how many differant ways can you tell some one to give the dog a 1/2 a raw chiken or Beef Rib bone and let him eat it? Fruit & Veggies advice runs from never to grind it up like baby food(My method). Do what you feel works make some notes and monitor your dogs weight & activity levels. This really ain't rocket science. Good luck

• Hi and happy new year ! On a previous post here I said I was considering moving my DDB to a BARF diet after a vommiting experience. I would like to know what books you guys recommend for beginners befor they start. Simple everyday lay mans english would be ideal (No Vet Talk) I have visited alot of sites but think a book or two is best. Cheers p.s. I have given her some chicken legs and turkey neck but only as a treat, she loved them :D Also any Irish BARFERS on this forum ?

• Platz ir right it really isn't rocket science but if you want to buy one book my recommendation is The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat by Juliette de Bairacli Levy. This is the original raw feeding book and it was first published in 1955 about 30 years ahead of any other natural diet author. the book is still available in paperback. The last revision was 1992.
• Platz is right. But if you insist on a book I have the original Grow your pup with bones that I'd like to sell :D
• As Platz said how many different ways can you tell someone to feed a dog 1/2 a chicken...! Is it that easy ? Alot of sites I visited said research is important I get the part regards raw meaty bones but its the veggie / supplement side of things I thought a book might help with, also amout of food. Is the commonly used formula 1% - 2% of the dogs adult weight ? This forum is packed with info, sometimes mind numbing. Cheers for the info so far.
• Be patient you would find the right answer ....keep reading and looking diferent options, if I knew, I will help you, sorry...
• Please do not over engineer this. Feeding a raw diet is very simple. There is good info on here in this forum and many members who feed raw. If you make it too complex you will not do it. Use the KISS principle.
• You see, now you have a good answer, ...good luck and hope you do fine.
• I looked at a few of the sites on RAW food. I'm really not seening anything on them that we haven't talked about here on MD. :D Read the old threads & ask questions.
• Whats this KISS Principal :?
•
Whats this KISS Principal :?
KISS stands for Keep It Simple, Stupid. The 'stupid' part is not usually meant as an insult. :D
