hm, never heard about torn ears. i would consider it as a rather rare injury. taking in consideration that a dog does loose a big part of it's body language when getting it's ears cropped, i would take the risk. instead for trying to heal a torn ear, you can always get them cropped later on. i have had dogs of the same breed with both cropped ears and drop ears and the ones with cropped ears haven't by far had a as clear body language as the ones with drop ears. as i sayed, this is the first time i hear about torn ears.
