Comment to 'Those magnificent Plotts'
  • Im starting this thread for anyone interested in, or already in Plott Dogs... My family has owned and hunted them for over 70 years. My Father told me about them when I was a boy. His Grandfather owned and hunted them in the North Georgia mountains. I became immersed in the breed through magnificent stories handed down to me by my father beside the campfire.. These dogs will always have a special place in my heart. The Plott is the only Coonhound in North America that cannot trace their ancestry back to the Foxhound... They are fierce fighters on game. Displaying unbeleivable courage in the face of some of the most determined of quarry, these dogs are quite relentless in their pursuit . Once a very popular Coonhound, their talents have now been utilized primarily on Big Game. Excelling on Bear and Dangerous Cats, the Plott has become the primary choice when in pursuit of these toothy animals. I encourage you to share any Plott stories and pics! Heres some more pics of boomslangs Frau.... Her hunting days are over, due to a injury sustained during a bear hunt several years back... But you cant tell her that! Boomslangs Frau....
