That looks like a very nice idea. Could use some improvements though - The top being flat is not a good idea for noise and heat abatement. I also don't like that it must be flush with the ground - where I live it will get flooded when it rains.  The top should be removable to facilitate easy cleaning.. apart from that - it seems like a good idea.
