There are a lot of things that affect the outcome of a dogs personality, hormone levels, puppy development and socialization, even vaccinations at specific life stages have been shown to affect personality outcomes. The sacriest ( I have only seen it once) is when there is no seen reason for such behavior (all health tests and upbringing are normal). Not only does their initial genetic makeup play a part, but how the environment affects this makeup.
