I have seen many around Edmonton Canada about 15 years ago I almost hit one in my car it ran across the road saw my car and ran in front for about 50+ meters at almost 60 km/hour it was moving fast then darted away. Once in a while they will grab a pet dog or cat in the river valley with the owners walking the dog without a leash & once on leash, you don't see or hear them much around the city, but at my lake lot you can hear them very close at night and wolves also regularly only seen one so far at the lake but sounds like tons of them some nights. The neighbor saw a pack off wolves below our place at the water one night last summer good thing they don't come around during the day my pup was just a baby then next summer she will be big and I've taught her the border well so they shouldn't be able to lure her into an ambush I'm not really worried to much better safe than sorry she watches the kids well and stays put when dogs walk by on the road. I haven't seen or heard of LGDs killing coyotes but knew a girl who had a grandfather he bred greyhound crosses to run coyotes down and kill them the farmers shot them to, use to poison or trap them also.
