I am a bit confused but I wasnt saying that I rely on my dogs e-collar to control protection mode, they listen to me for that if I am present and they respond, If I am not, then the person is an idiot... but an E-collar is much different than electric fencing...dont knock it till you tried it and I still have commercial grade fencing...a few other people with CAO's & CO's use them as well with great results. My collars are range from 1-50 in regards to strength of a correction along with different varities and both my dogs are on 10 at the moment I have heavy duty collars and paid close to $600 dollars for them and my dogs have an amazing recall now with or without the collars on. They are never outside of their fencing without their collars and leashes on when they are off leash they are in the woods in the middle of no where but hey I have great results with my collars but they would go right though an electric fence I am with my animals pretty much 24/7 so we know each other very well and they know what i will and will not tolerate and respect it because I rule the roose LOL
