4iso, You make a assumptions about people and their dogs. With that said, you must be aware that people who take the time and effort to train their dogs to respect an electric border or signals the dog's compliance with an electronic stimulus - do it because they love their dogs. This love for their dog is manifested in their owners trying to provide a safe environment for them to live and play by establishing some boundaries. Do not assume that you know how best to train someone's dog. All dogs ar not alike nor or all circumstances or application of methods consistent. I will defer to the educated and compassionate ower in almost all cases about what is best for their dog. I have used the electric fence with my dogs. So since use of electric fences and electronic training devices are actually approved by the Humane Society and other organizations - I will assume that with proper use it is actually manifestatioon of love for the animal. They are not cheap and training a dog to respect them takes time so, in my opinion if someone takes the time and effort to do it correctly it is because they do indeed love their dogs. Do not assume to much - it leads to incorrect conclusions.
