Comment to 'Puppy Contracts - Good or Bad?'
  • I think puppy contracts have both pros and cons, especially in a world where enforcement can get really fuzzy. On the plus side, they give both breeder and buyer clear expectations—health guarantees, return clauses, what happens if someone can’t keep the dog. But in practice, many contract terms are nearly impossible to monitor—things like spaying/neutering, show-standards, or what “proper care” means can end up being vague. I’ve seen situations where what was agreed on paper never matched reality, and the breeder had no real recourse. It almost feels like trying to enforce rules inside oculus vr—sounds neat, but in reality there’s no easy way to control what happens once people are out in the real world.
