[quote1258959481=Adam_CC] Nice pics there and what a grand dog you have mate. I didnt really associate DDB's being very atheletic to be honest, and told they didnt like running , but maybe with your dog this isnt the case :) [/quote1258959481] Thank you !!! I tell ya he isn't what we were expecting at all.... not even remotely close..... We read that these dogs are lazy and happy to live with very little exercise and were suitable to live in a apartment LOL !!! OMG it couldn't be further from the truth in my boys case..... He is PUMPED ! constantly on the go and into everything... Wants to play non stop, even when he has smaller dogs over to visit ( Pitbull ) its George always the last one standing looking for more....I have never seen a dog this large have this much energy, he bombs around my back yard faster then his pitbull buddy ( 55 lbs and leggy ) , he leaps off my 4' deck like he thinks he's superman... And he loves to run, and he runs fast... He has no issue keeping with my buddies doberman's over a good distance, and in a sprint he's quite a bit faster.... I never in a million years could have imagined a mastiff could move like this guy does, it is absolutely fantastic to watch him run...He lowers right down and takes giant long strides, his long body acting almost like a coil spring, his back legs make full movements from in front of his front to full out extended kicks in the back.... He has run with Boxers, Pitbulls, Dobermans, GSD's, Rottie's and another mastiff and in all out speed he has been the fastest.. He also seems to really enjoy racing other dogs and definitely has a competitive nature as he pushes really hard to outrun his buddies....... Another thing unique is that he is very graceful and light on his feet, his movements are very fluid and almost catlike,...My neighbor always comments how he moves like a big cat....... George is not overly heavy for his breed, he's likely around 110 lbs ( 130 lbs if you account for internet exaggeration LOL) , he is absolutely rock hard and ripped , all bone and muscle and sinew, not even a stitch of fat anywhere.. After a good run veins pop out in his shoulders , thighs and chest...it looks absolutely freaky !!! I am not sure of his background as I adopted him 1 year ago, but whatever it is he's a fantastic athlete that has been 100% healthy and vigorous and shows zero issues with heat, endurance or joints........The only downside is its hard to keep him entertained, he's always bored and looking for action...And no matter how much you play with him he's always looking for more...... He is also extremely distrustful of strangers, and extremely protective of his property and familly...He's not really viscous or mean , but he will definitely purposely intimidate new guests if he gets a chance to... dog of dissuasion he is ! With the family he's a big goofy puppy, and by far the most affectionate happy dog we have owned..
