I started researching the Perro de Torro this morning to see if there is new historical (sic) information on the breed.  I found this article that has some historical inferences but am not sure how valid it is.

Please tell me your opinion on this breed profile of the Spanish Bulldog - Perro de Toro that we have here on MD as written by Wolf.

As with any breed of antiquity there is must romantic fanaticism and conjecture and very little actual historical evidence to backup the claims of the fancier.  Any old article or historical photos, papers would be welcome.
