Castanha, what a pitty you did not wait! At Los Tarantos the dogs are not mass produced...the crosses have always a lot of thinking and do not happen that often.

right now Los Tarantos is very focused on recovering the Spanish Dogo / Spanish Presa. Soon I will share the info translated where you can read some interesting historical facts. 

Just to give you a bit more about the Spanish Dogo: only recently we started talking about dog breeds, since it used to be dog types...hunting type, guarding, etc.

in the Alano type of dogs since ever you could find lighter dogs that were of course prey dogs but with great endurance (used to hunt wild boar) and heavier dogs, the Presas or Dogos! being the Dogos used mostly to deal with cattle in the slaughter house, countryside and later in the bullfight arena! Sometimes these were also the dogs used as guards and taken with the Conquistadores..Why the different sizes and weights? the dogs had only one purpose: FUNCTION

Los Tarantos together with Los Tercios and other very traditional breeders we are trying to recover the Dogo.
