Comment to 'Dogue de Bordeaux?'
  • This is a cross post from another thread. However, I’m still a bit inclined to “Say it ain’t so Joe”. If anyone has any information to the contrary feel free to challenge me, but I'm still inclined to think that such old photos are Bandogs loosely called Dogues(?) (but then Babigirl played a trump card with her long muzzled Dogue de Bordeaux)! The dogs I’ve posted below are from the early 1900’s, one of them is of a notorious fighter dated 1910, the other is dated 1920. Both of them are short muzzled and look much the same as the breed standard calls for today.
