Mutts can be great! But be careful! I bought a mutt from a breeder offering Pomchi's (Pomeranian/Chihuahua). She charged a lot and would not allow visits to her home. Unfortunately I did not know a lot about dogs at the time. Over $7,000.00 (in vet bills) later I have since learned alot. I had to have our dog go through two knee surgeries. She has recovered well but it was a goddamn joke in trying to get any help from the breeder. I accept that it was my fault in choosing this breeder but I was shocked by her lack of care for her dogs she bred. I have since done much research on breeds I like and have chosen the breeder based on my dealings with them. The result has been a happy and healthy puppy. It took me almost two years to get my first Leonberger puppy but I have to say that it was worth the wait. The breeder worked with me and offered assistance in how to help this puppy grow. I disagreed on certain things but they listened and did not try to dissuade my approach but offered advice that worked for them. Where did you hear about these puppies? Breeder, newspaper, website, etc? Be wary of breeders of mix breeds that can't give you proof of the parents breed!
