  • I do not own a CO and I am a layman so I could be wrong. But just taking a stab at it I say these dogs were thinking defense. I see an attacks, good ones, but little or no chasing. This may come from years of being bred to deal with canine predators. A LGD cannot leave the sheep in order to chase a wolf, wild dog or 'yote across a field. It will be led off into a trap or other predators will attack the flock while it is gone. I am not saying that these dogs are not confrontationl. They are confrontational as hell. It just seems that they are more concerned with guarding the person or proerty and less concerned with actually chasing the decoy down and really hurting. Infact in two of the vid the dogs back off once the decoy appears to retreat. But I could be wrong.
