Which drive?

I do not own a CO and I am a layman so I could be wrong. But just taking a stab at it I say these dogs were thinking defense. I see an attacks, good ones, but little or no chasing. This may come from years of being bred to deal with canine predators. A LGD cannot leave the sheep in order to chase a wolf, wild dog or 'yote across a field. It will be led off into a trap or other predators will attack the flock while it is gone. I am not saying that these dogs are not confrontationl. They are confrontational as hell. It just seems that they are more concerned with guarding the person or proerty and less concerned with actually chasing the decoy down and really hurting. Infact in two of the vid the dogs back off once the decoy appears to retreat. But I could be wrong.

• Only defense going on here.
• I also see a pure defense drive here, but I would like to know if the others agree with this. hugo
• It's very simple. Does the purely defensive dog chase the threat? There ya have it.
• i agree with you hugo as well as with what wolf and mike said, i cannot see anything icluding a typical aspect of prey drive, this would even be undisired with multiple atackers. the dog should have you and only you in focuse, so if the attacker sees he has no chance there is no need for chasing him, as this would not be desired if there were more attackers. the dog has to focus his owner and nobody else.
• I also can say that is defense drive. In each video is very clear that. I like very much the last one. Is pure defense. He atack to defend the place he guard. Strong dog. Love it.
• I dont understand how the people you mention the say the dog use prey drive. The co has low prey drive, evrybody know this.
• Before jumping to agree with me, at least try to understand what the hell I'm saying. Think, clowns.
