yes they offer a bit of protection, but not a whole lot, they are used just for the dog to have a feel for an actual arm ( without actually offering your arm) maybe this is why it doesn't is used in USA
Dog shows great drive and did not back down as was not overly aggressive. Just engaged when the "threat" got close enough.
