I was racking my brain out. Trying to find a picture of a Red CO.
I saw on one of the CO sites sometime ago. But I can't find it.
If anyone has Pics . Would they like to share? That would be great.
The dog looks striking in that color. And the one I saw somewhat imposing as well.
:D
I don't recall ever seeing a red CO either.
Are you possibly confusing this with a red Sarplaninac?
I have and breed solid dark red sesames (designated "Red black" on RKF pedigree) with full black masks and really love this color. Some say that the deep fire red with black mask originates from pockets of dogs in Armenia.

Thank You, Stacy. I think it was on your site or sites. That I saw it on.
Striking Dog. Does this color have any health issues?
Again thanks for the info.

Hi Richard, thanks!
I'll try to get some red photos together to show you. I have not experienced or heard of red linked health problems. I really love the type of some of the solid red dogs.
Thanks Yelena and Stacy! Your dogs are beautiful!
The dog I saw looked red like this:
It one of those things that is still in my head. A very striking color for these dogs.
Again thanks for the help!

We can continue looking for pics and revisit this fun interesting color topic!
SIMBA is such a beautiful dog. Stacey, your import, is he related to simba??
YL, your big male, the father of the last litter, wouldnt he be considered more of a karabas in color?? Chewbaka is a pretty dark red little boy himself

His color depends on a season and lighting during photograph, of coarse. But he is red with dark asphalt undercoat.

Hi Mike,
Bars' FCI pedigree is in Georgian language, and I must confess to never translateing it  But the pics sure suggest a family resemblance. Supposedly, Bars and his brother Bors (also in US) were sired by a herdsmans' dog. So the story went. No corroboration on the story though. A Georgian attorney moved to the US, her dad sent her some dogs from home, and I ended up with one of the boys. Her other older dogs, purchased in Georgia, had pedigrees tracing to Siberia. Maybe someone reading this can translate the papers...haven't been able to muddle through the Georgian alphabet.
What year was Simba born?
Funny thing about Bars is that he plays (retrieves) ball and is the one dog in his youth who has tried to chase the horses. He also is very obedient on recall. He is a very different dog than my Faraon was.
