Ambullneo Mastiff
The Ambullneo was developed in the early 1980\'s by Mark Reasinger, who reportedly crossed three bulldog type dogs with three mastiff types, but to this day there is a great deal of uncertainty when it comes to the actual breeds used. What is generally accepted as certain is the use of Bullmastiffs, Neapolitan Mastiffs and American Pit Bull Terriers, while it is suspected that American Bulldogs, American Staffordshires and English Mastiffs were also employed. Like most Bandogs, the Ambullneo Mastiff is bred primarily for protection duties, but it also makes a steady-tempered and intelligent companion dog.
A breed of remarkable strength and agility, the muscular and immensely powerful Ambullneo needs broad socialization and firm handling from very early on, due to its high guarding instincts and prey-drive. The Ambullneo Mastiff is equally suited for both indoor and outdoor life, but requires a fair amount of exercise. Wide-chested and broad-headed, this handsome Molosser has a strong body and neck, with sturdy legs and a straight backline.
Its short coat is dense, rough and weatherproof, coming in a variety of colours, such as fawn, brown, gray, blue and brindle with or without small white markings allowed, but the uniformly black dogs are preferred. The average height is around 26 inches.
