Ameristaff Bulldog

The Ameristaff Bulldog is seen by some as a sub-type of the Colorado Bulldogge, while others consider it to be a separate breed. It was initially created by crossing American Bulldogs and American Staffordshire Terriers, but then some American Pit Bull Terrier and Northwoods Pit Bulldog blood was added, bringing it even closer to the Colorado Bulldogge. This is a powerful and agile dog, posessing strong drive and stamina.

The Ameristaff Bulldog makes a good hunter, watchdog and protector, responds well to obedience training and can be an amenable family companion. However, it is quite territorial and dog-aggressive, in need of early socialization and responsible handling. Muscular and well-boned, the Ameristaff Bulldog is a rugged and athletic breed, requiring a fair ammount of excercise and attention. The head is broad, with a strong muzzle, powerful jaws and a muscled neck.

The coat is short, flat and smooth, allowed in all colours. The height ranges anywhere from 17 inches to 26 inches at the withers.
