Australian Bullterrier

The Australian Bullterrier is a result of crossing common working dogs of Australia with Dingoes, English Bullterriers, AmStaffs, Australian Bulldogs and Bulldingos. Originally a popular pit fighter and hunter in the past, the Outback Bully is a loving companion and a tireless farm dog today. It is valued as a capable herder and a good watchdog.

Very intelligent and playful, it makes an excellent family pet, but it still needs careful handling around other dogs and small animals. A variety of types exist, from leaner and lighter examples to the wide-backed and big-headed dogs. Some specimens have docked tails, but the ears are never cropped. The Australian Bullterrier is a muscular, strongly boned and athletic Molosser, valued for its ruggedness and resilience.

The short, smooth coat is preferred brindled, but common in all colourings, both solid and bicoloured. Average height is around 19 inches.
