Brazilian Terrier

This feisty and energetic breed was developed in the 20th century Brazil by crossing Fox Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Bullterriers, Rat Terriers and Miniature Pinschers, although some believe that Chihuahuas and Whippets were used as well. A superb ratter and small game hunting dog, the Fox Paulistinha is a very alert, agile and tenacious worker, but it is also immensely intelligent and devoted to its master, making an amenable companion if socialized properly. The Brazilian Terrier is highly driven, requires a fair amount of exercise and is not the best choice for unexperienced owners.

The coat is short, flat and smooth, always predominantly white in color, with black and tan patches. Average height is around 15 inches.
