Kurdish Dog VS Spanish Mastiff
Note: Kurdish dogs are not registered in the world
Few know about their features and history.
the reason for not registering this breed,
Only because the lack of attention of the political
authorities and the Kurdistan government and the
lack of proper advertising for the introduction of this breed
And there is no other reason.
Based on the request of the site admin,
I made an article showing the differences
between the two Kurdish dogs and the Spanish mastiffs.
I hope that it is useful for everyone and will
improve their information in the field of better
understanding of breeds.
In expressing the obvious differences between
these two breeds There are a few basic subjects:
_
1. Kurdish dogs based on existing historical
evidence True descendants of Assyrian
civilizations While the Spanish mastiffs do not
have such a historic date.
2. If you look carefully, you see that in all the
Assyrian and Babylonian inscriptions there are
dogs that are hunting wild animals or are fighting
and protecting the kings.
So what's the dog breed with the features
mentioned above at the present time?
Hunting animals and guarding large herds of
livestock and fighting requires muscular body,
lightweight, and breathing power and ferociousness.
If you look good, Spanish mastiffs are exactly
the opposite of these features.
_
It means their weighing too heavy, which makes
it impossible for them to travel long distances following
livestock flocks and get they tired soon.
they have a very large body with a lot of fats,
which is in contrast to agility and warfare.
while the fat-free kurdish dogs , as well as their low weight ,
enable them to travel far along the flocks.
And in ffront of wildlife like wolves, they are ready to defend
livestoks more.
_
Spanish mastiffs have a moderate and downward breathing power, which means they have to rest big part of day to recharge their energy.
Spanish mastiffs do not have a lot of desire for war, and
If that happens, they'll stop fighting very soon.
And that's why they are more involved in beauty contests.
_
Although I do not agree to dog fighting, it is necessary to some extent to keep the body of the dog working, especially to deal with wildlife.
Well, while Kurdish dogs take part in combat competitions several times during the year, they fight for an average of 30 to 50 minutes in each fight.
Imagine you Spanish mastiff with its 100 kilos weight in front of a Kurdish dog ... Without a doubt, in the first minute of the battle, it will breathe less and it will hardly fail.
This is one of the great differences between these two races.
_
3. The body Anatomy of the Spanish mastiffs is also square-shaped and the head and neck are aligned along the back and in a flat line, while the anatomy of the Kurdish dogs is in the form of fish.
They have wide Chest and narrow waist. The head and neck are also raised, and are always held vertically above the waist.
_
4. In most Spanish mastiffs images, you can clearly see that the tail of these dogs are always vertical and in between their legs (this is not just a simple habit but is one of the main features of this race)
While Kurdish dogs often hold their tail in a circle and raised above their waist
_
5. The wrinkles of the Spanish mastiff face are very much and have a huge dewlap.
While the Kurdish dogs have less wrinkles, and their dewlap size is much smaller compared to the spanish mastiffs.
(Note: having facial wrinkles is not a reason for the similarity and relationship of two breeds. As you can see, the Kangals, Malaklis and Neopolitian mastiffs are also have large dewlap and wrinkle face.
Are all of these races associated with spanish mastiff?
Absolutely not)
6-The ears of Spanish mastiff is much larger and stretched than the ear of Kurdish dogs.
The Spanish mastiffs ear is also quite soft and non-cartilaginous. While the Kurdish dogs ear are half cartilaginous and have the ability to lift and lower it.
