Dogs that exhibit Compulsive Behaviors

"I am not a fan of psychotropic drugs for dogs, it is a band-aid on behavior at best, and frankly causes super untrustworthy behavior on both ends of the leash, and never ever addresses the why. And yet that is the first question I receive - 'should I just put my dog on drugs'. My answer is always and emphatically, no.

With either the baseline of - physical activity, mental activity, nourishing the system, nourishing the gut microbiome, and social and emotional balance need to be met. And of course and as always, appropriate management.

Great things happen when change is accepted as a good thing.

And with change there is learning.

And with learning there is more understanding.

And with more understanding, the relationship strengthens.

And with all of this, well, great things happen."

    • owners are always responsible for them. Behavior like that can be tricky to understand without looking at the full picture. Dogs can develop habits for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it’s environment, other times it’s routine. It’s a bit like troubleshooting a hisense device https://hisense.pissedconsumer.com/review.html, where small details matter. Have you noticed any patterns? That usually helps narrow things down
