The groups module was improved with several new features. Please see a partial list of enhancements below but check out the groups feature to join or start your own group.

GROUP FANS/ADMINISTRATORS

Adds the ability for Group Administrator to manually add members as fans.
In default Dolphin, the management of group administrators is clumsy. Firstly, a member has to become a fan before they can be promoted to administrator. Secondly, there is no page block to display all the administrators. This mod overcomes those deficiencies by allowing existing group administrators to directly create new administrators. Also a page block is added so that all active group administrators are displayed on the main page for the group.

PRIVATE GROUPS

The default Dolphin Group module does not have real Private Group functionality. However, with this mod you can create a Private Group (with fan access only). When this is viewed by a non-fan, only the Join button is shown.

GROUP EVENTS

Premium Groups is integrated with Events. There are two different possibilities.

a) There is a built-in Events section.
b) I have also added integration with default Boonex Events module. With this method, there is an option to hide Group Events from showing in the regular Events section. If this option is activated, they will only show up on the Group page.

Administrator has the option of choosing to use the built-in Group Event feature or the Boonex Event integration.

PAID FEATURED GROUPS

This is an optional feature that allows a Site Administrator to charge fees for Featuring Group Listings.
Admin can set the cost per day for a listing to remain featured.

GROUP BLOGS

Group fans can now post blogs in a particular group.
Blogs block with the latest blog postings is shown on Group View page.
Sub-section added to Group page to allow browsing all blogs.

GROUP NEWS

Group Admin can now post news items about a particular group.
News block with the latest posted news is shown on Group View page.
Sub-section added to Group page to allow browsing all news items.

GROUP SPONSORS

Many Groups have Sponsors that contribute to them. Group Admin can now highlight and promote those Sponsors by listing them on the Groups page.
Sponsors block with the latest Sponsors is shown on Group View page.
Sub-section added to Group page to allow browsing all Sponsors.

GROUP VENUES

Some Groups physically meet at venues for Groups etc. Group Admin can now list those Venues on the Groups page.
Venues block with the latest Venues is shown on Group View page.
Sub-section added to Group page to allow browsing all Venues.

GROUP FORUM

Enhanced so that Group Admin can choose who have viewing access to the forum.
Forum Block now displays on Group main page and displays the latest forum feed.

MULTIPLE GROUP RSS FEEDS

This exciting feature allows individual Groups to have their own RSS Feed. This ability can be restricted to particular Membership levels.
Has the ability to inject multiple feeds on an individual Group page.

ENHANCED ACCESS RESTRICTION

Adds the ability for members to create "Invitation Only" Groups. Access can be restricted to Fans only and the Group Admin will have to send an Invitation for others to Join. The Invitation will be delivered to both Internal and External mail and will have an Accept Invite link.

GROUPS LOCALIZATION

The mod includes the ability to post a Group with a physical location (this is optional since Groups can also be online-based).

Site members can drill down Groups based on location. A section is included which lists all Countries in the world. Upon selection of a Country, all regions in that Country are displayed. Upon selection of a Region, the Groups located at that location are displayed.

ACCOUNT PAGE

Groups in My Area block - The account page is now enhanced to include an additional block displaying the Groups located in the same City that the member is located.
More Local Groups Block - This lists other Groups located in the same City as the Group being viewed.
Other Groups by member Block - This lists other Groups posted by the creator of the Group being viewed.
Group Sponsor Block - Displays information such as Name, Email, Website etc for the Group Sponsor.
