Black Dragon Mastiff
This is one of the Chinese MEAT dogs, bred and raised primarily for food. The Black Dragon Mastiff was developed by crossing the dogs of Aur Cheuan and Tibet, most notably the Manggu Ao and the Zang Ao, although imported Newfoundlands have been suggested as well.
Larger and more massive than its parent breeds, the Qing Long Quan specimens that don't end up as food are said to make capable watchdogs and healthy, even-tempered pets.
The coat is thick and richly undercoated, common in shades of black, white, fawn, brown, black-n-tan and black-n-white. Average height is 25 inches.
