German Bullterrier

This rare bully is a re-creation of the smaller German Bullenbeisser and was developed by crossing the American Staffordshire Terriers, German Boxers, Rottweilers and English Bullterriers. The German Bullterrier is primarily a protection dog, but also makes an excellent companion pet. Healthy, alert and intelligent, this wonderful breed responds well to obedience training and enjoys an active lifestyle. However, it can become confrontational around other dogs if not socialized properly. In appearance similar to the Pit Bull, this is a muscular and agile breed, with a large head and broad shoulders. The ears are never cropped, while the tail may be docked or left unaltered.

The coat is short, thick and flat, preferred in the clearly defined black-n-tan colouring, with or without white markings on the chest, feet and tip of the tail. The average height is around 20 inches.
