Reno Bull Terrier

Developed from American Bulldogs and Pit Bulls, as well as English Bullterriers and Presa Canarios, the Reno Bull Terrier is an athletic and powerful Molosser, used primarily as a fighting dog. But this mighty bulldog is also an ideal contestant for Weight-Pull and Protection trials. Although the Nevada Bull has all but vanished, thanks to the assimilation into the modern APBT breed, some surviving specimens can reportedly still be seen on occasion, but apart from sometimes being mentioned as a strain of Pit Bulls, the breed remains unknown and largely forgotten. The Reno loves children and makes a devoted family companion when raised properly. However, this is a dedicated watchdog, at times overly aggressive towards strange people and dogs, which is why it needs experienced and responsible handling. The body is well-boned, broad-shouldered and deep-chested, with strong legs and a short muscled neck. The head is wide, with fairly large eyes, a short muzzle and well-developed jaws. The ears can be natural or cropped, but the tail is always left unaltered.

The coat is short, dense and smooth, coming in any color combined with white markings. Average height is around 22 inches.
