Texas Terrier
This hard working terrier was developed in the United States by a Texas hunting enthusiast by the name of Robert "Red" Guthrie. He reportedly crossed Pit Bulls and AmStaffs with Standard Schnauzers, Walker Hounds, Fox Terriers and Patterdale Terriers. Slowly gaining popularity, the Texas Terrier makes an excellent racoon, wildcat and hog hunter.
This breed is best suited for active owners, preferably hunters. There is only scarce and inconsistent information when it comes to the appearance standards of the Texas Terrier.
