#Pandora is finally starting to blow here coat. It is about damn time as we are pretty warm here in Texas. @Ruskizvor #Caucasian

When we lived in Virginia and started showing it was mainly with ARBA and Rarities Inc. (now International Canine Kennel Club). We also showed with IABCA when the shows were in North Carolina. I am a big fan of ARBA as it was ran by Robert and Clarice - Great people who genuinely loved the dogs and the ability to bring rare breed fanciers together. John and Rita from ICKC are also very nice people and as passionate as Robert at ARBA. I have checked their site to see what's happening but it appears that there are not many shows scheduled. That is too bad. One of the issues I had with all the organizations is their use of AKC judges. Believe it or not - those judges don't know your breed as good as you do unless they have owned, bred and trained the same. It is like saying if you own American Bulldogs you know all there is to know a bout the #Presa Canario or Cane #Corso or an extreme example - you are a GSD judge and thus qualified to judge #Caucasian and Central Asian #Ovcharka .. .. crazy.

This is another astute observation from our friend at #Mastini Kennels. Thank you Jessica. You are correct in your observation and definition of the breed clubs. Shall we suppose that the breed clubs are made up mostly of breed enthusiasts and breeders? If that supposition is correct then, I think the breed clubs do bear some responsibility for the state of their represented breeds by wielding influence over the breeds and sanctioning the actions and choices of judges which then drives breeders and owners into a certain direction. One area that is of interest to me it the temperament of the dogs represented. I can point to several breeds (#Caucasian, #CAO, #Fila Brasileiro, #presa canario, #Boerboel, etc.) whose temperaments are for the most part "softened". In some cases, these former working dogs are being softened for the pet owner market which drives demand, and drives breeders, and clubs to adjust their expectations... (my thoughts - not substantiated) and thus affects the breed. This is a word salad as I am jet lagging right now.. :) Anyway, @mastini-mayhem, @Mastini Mayhem Kennel I do agree with your assessment and wanted to share my thoughts in hopes that others will comment. I hope the new year is a great one for all our #Molosser Fans.

Caesar was our first #Caucasian #Ovcharka who we got in Italy. He moved from Italy, to Virginia and finally to Texas where his is now resting. He was a very strong CO.

This video from the Paws Channel shows a #Rottweiler challenging a #Caucasian for dominance. It ended as we would think.
