I posted a few pics of Diesel my APBT BM cross in the [link=http://molosserdogs.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=125]Bandogge Gallery[/link] a few days ago. I personally really rate this cross if you're looking for a slightly smaller more athletic type of bandog.

    • Just for the sake of learning more about breeds, has anyone seen any crosses like this? Pictures would be helpful as well. I think if my boy passes his hip/elbow/eye/thryoid/heart plus att cert plus weight pull title I want to get his sperm collected and preserved with aims to keep his memory alive. I might sound very ignorant so please be easy on me lol I think given the frame of my dog, temperament and weight I think he could be complimented well by combining with mastiff blood. I hit one in a million because he is not really dog agressive yet extremely gentile and patient with our house pets 3 cats and a chiwawa. I know he is not done maturing yet and this can all change but these are just my observations right now. Now please do not get me wrong before all those tests and certifications it is not going to be a few years and again this is only an idea. I don't care about making money or becoming a breeder, I just think it would be neat to hook up with someone that could help out with the other 50% of the blood with the traits to compliment him. I think Bernie is extremely gentile and caring with the family but I see a change in him at night and specially around our yard he becomes extremely protective, he ressembles mastiff dogs with his body and head type. I know I have ways to go and please do not take this so serious for all I know he has horrible hips and it's over. I am just here to state my thoughts and everyone is welcome to join in, maybe this is a terrible idea to begin with and someone can prove me wrong. This is my boy I started cutting the feed a little bit, and we started doing more road work. I ordered a pro weight pull harness that should be here by thanksgiving, I still have half a year to get him xrayed before I decide to try on the heavy weights and hopefully compete.
      • This is an older pic but you can see his head type here

          • thank you for the feedback, is that link you provided directly to the image of the dog? By the way can you tell me more about the cross. What bloodlines were the apbt and did the bullmastiff come from working or show stock? What made you want to do this cross and what specific traits can you tell me about this bandog. thanks a lot for your input!
            • The first 3 pics in the Bandogge Gallery are of my dog. The APBT on his dams side is down from Ruthless (Farmer Boys dog) I'm not too sure about on his sires side (he has APBT on both sides, his sire being APBTxAB and dam APBTxBM). The BM used was down from show stock but worked as guard dog at a used car lot. I didn't do the cross personally but what attracted me to it was the smaller size and tighter more athletic build when compared to the usual Neo X bandogs. They drool less too ;) I have Diesel with me all day when doing my rounds (rent collection) where he meets hundreds of people and is always happy to be petted so long as the they approach calmly and respectfully but if you raise your voice or act erratically he'll be on the end of his lead giving you the stare. He's honestly perfect for what I use him for, calm and friendly enough to enter strangers homes without any fuss but ready to turn on at the flick of a switch should the situation require it. He hasn't had any formal training or tests but has been tested in a few real life scenarios and I can say I trust him 100% to engage a threat.

[/quote1288990113] Thank you for sharing that information your dog is very impressive. What are his stats weight, height? do you have any footage of the boy? I like his structure a lot, he has thick bone but his front looks very correct. He has a lovely head as well. It is amazing what can come out of a mix of different breeds. I would like to have a dog with my dog's height but with a more bone and better rear angulation as well as a shorter body. I think a hint of the correct mastiff blood will increase his guarding skills without comprimising his stability. My dog lacks prey drive which is also excellent, you don't want your guard dog to take off after a squirrel while you are being robbed haha within the next two years I should be moving a nice large place and I will def need the help of counter part to Bernie. I know at night he is very protective of the property but I am pretty sure he would work better as a watch dog alerting than guarding. I can see him wagging his tail and licking the robbers while they take our stuff away haha
