    • Can anybody tell me a good breeder around or in, germany, austria, hungary or slovenia ? Thanks..
        • What type and for what purpose?
          • He wil be a companion and protector of the house and family. I prefer the bigger boned type as long as it is still athletic. He wil be an addition to my cane corso flock. Im not in a hurry , but im gathering info for a while now. I would like to check out some kennels during my holliday period in summer. Thanks.
            • Cool. You have Ruski Izvor in Serbia and Drinski Vitez in Bosnia. Those are the only two in the region I'm comfortable suggesting.
              • Hello Alex Well I know an excelent breeder in Ukrania, Daur DON, Andrey is the man in charge, if you contact him, tell him his friend from Lima Peru Andreita give you the information about his excelent dogs.Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for. ....
                • I also know Daur Don kennels Andrey is a great man and breeder, I have a CO from him and even is 8 months old right now, is a great dog. He also breeds CAO and he has serious dogs. Here you have one of his males: That dog is 94 cm at the sholders so is very big. Andrey was planning to mate that dog with this female: You can also consider the kennel Talisman, is a Russian one located near the borden with Ukrania. I have 2 pups from Talisman they are just gorgeous. Here you can see the father of my pup: This dog is 93 cm at the sholders. And this is the mother: Now, these are hard dogs so you have to consider your experience with this kind of working dogs. There is this kind of association of Ukranian breeders under the name of Security Dogs. They breed CO and/or CAO and they are serious breeders, they have a web page under such name; Daur Don and Talisman are part of this association. Good luck with your research. hugo
                  • thanks guys this is really helpfull.
                    • HEYYYY Hugo Really great post , those dogs in the pictures... the more I look at them, the more I like them. The male is spectacular. ;) ....
                      • contactcombat, congrats on your choice! :) CAOs are a great breed, but be very VERY cautious when picking a breeder. Hip and elbow dysplasia, along with unstable temperament have become a serious problem in CAOs. To my knowledge, Germany and Austria don't have good CAOs, and Hungary has a few kennels with interesting dogs. Wolf already mentioned two kennels who are near Hungary. Kennel "Ruski Izvor" ([link=http://www.ruskiizvor.com/]LINK[/link]) from Serbia has dogs from show lines that are great both in built and in temperament. The other kennel, "Drinski Vitez", is actually from Russia. Their dogs are bred for working abilities, so they aren't uniform in type nor are they "showy", but their built, ancestry and temperament is something you can be certain of. There are a few dogs in Serbia and Bosnia form that kennel, two males and two females, and some more are coming soon. Here's Araj III, one of the males photographed at the Russian Breeds Club Show two weeks ago: ...and his son, Ahtar Drinski Vitez, 14 months old in this photo, owned by our member Elir. I've seen dogs from both of these kennels in person and I liked very much what I saw. I think it's worth going a bit farther to get a dog from them. In any case, I wish you good luck in your search and with your new dog! :) Katarina
                        • Very nice both dogs you posted Katarina. I really like them. Please tell me those working lines that Drinski Vitez has are guarding or fighting lines. I know that there are several breeders using fighting lines. hugo
                          • Very nice CAOs. I do not think you would see fighting lines at shows too often so they are probably working. Nice dogs.
                            • Yes gary, you are right; but consider that not every pup of the litter became a fighter. There are a lot of pups out of fighting lines that go to people not involved in fighting. hugo
                              • Hello all, Aray III was in the kennel "Kalomenski Alabay", the owner of this kennel is well known Igor Berchansky, Ahtar is his son and a grandchild of Alar (Aray x Altyn (both imported from Turkmenia)). So, they are both (Aray III and Ahtar) fighting lines.
                                • verry nice elir, thank you!
                                  • Could not find talisman kennels. He has nice dogs i would like to see more
                                      • Thanks for the post Hugo!I dont know how i missed this. I love those CAOs! Regards, Yaj.
                                        • Thanks scarlette though about a second after i posted that i realised how to find them lol. Does anyone know what hapened to almaz, i heard that most of their dogs had hip problems and as a result their site got hacked, is that true?
                                          • [quote1274546737=ed]Does anyone know what hapened to almaz, i heard that most of their dogs had hip problems and as a result their site got hacked, is that true? [/quote1274546737] Vadim, died in 2007 of a massive anurism while working out in his garage. He was in great physical shape. His dogs were sold off by his surviving spouse. ... His dogs did not have hip problems and his site was not hacked. Don't believe all you hear especially if it is from another CAO breeder. Vadim was a very good friend of mine. • Sorry Gary i did not mean to offend, just saw that video from iva90 on youtube. I am sorry i did not know about his death, but why was his site hacked?
                                              • I was not offended at all. I did not know his site was hacked. I am not sure who owns the site now that Vadim is gone. It is still registered in his name.
                                                • http://www.almaz.us/ i think that is his site. But i have been told by a few people gary that a few of his later litters were too big and had weak rear-ends. Is that untrue or just unfortunate?
