Because of the dog
This is something that I have often thought about and lately I I'm inspired by the user @CuzOfTheDog to start this topic.
Here is the premise .. how have you modified your life because of the dog(s)?
Your house
Your routines
Your vehicles
Your spending and budget.
Eating and home habits
Look forward to hearing a few stories.

In our case, we got our first Caucasian Ovcharka while living in Italy (story posted in forum) for home protection.
We lived on a 5 acre farm so they were perfect for the intended purpose of protection.
They impacted our choice of home when we moved to Virginia because we had 3 and needed space and fencing.
Because of the dogs we adjusted our lifestyle and the way we planned for visitors etc. because of the dogs defensive and protective nature.
Also influenced our choice of home in Texas when we moved there in 2010.
We would probably have a lot more money if we did not have the dogs but would not change a thing.
What is your storey?

Hey, great question. I’ve thought a lot about how my dogs have reshaped my life, and it’s wild how many small changes become permanent. Our home was one of the first things—fencing, layout, even picking a house with extra yard space. I adjust my schedule around walks, vet appointments, and training, which sometimes means I’m turning down weekend plans. In the middle of all this, comparing my pet-expense receipts has felt like reading through grubhub reviews—unexpected costs popping up where you didn’t foresee them. I wouldn’t trade it though—having the dogs has brought more joy and purpose to my everyday.
